With the Loudest of '07 behind us... It's time to look forward into 2008.
Let's see, at lest 2 more months of winter, 1% less GST and a Stat Holiday in February, I think that's about it.
Happy New -Wait!
Hollee Rock joins me next week as my official sidekick.
And we've take the 3SN format and added some BAM! with a few new features,
The Top 5 at Midnight and something Red Hot off the shelves to review.
Everything else I'm keeping a surprise.

The Rusted Compass
I went and saw (gasp) The Golden Compass the other night.
My youth pastor said said it best... "If you're worried about losing your faith by watching this, you never had it."
And the best part of the movie was the preview on the new Narina flick.
Seriously, there's a reason why this thing tanked in it's opening weekend... it's a blah movie.
I spent half of it trying to figure out how the dots connected and the half trying to figure out "why?" and what has this to do with being an atheist?
It's not like the world is upside down where good is evil and evil is good. It's more like everything is gray. Maybe that's the point.
I will say this, the one on one fist fight with the bears was sweet! The "good" bear took the other bear's jaw clean off his face! What the?! -I didn't see that coming!
All in all I give a -2, a waste of 8 bucks I could have used to see I Am Legend. The story was slow, and the previews were honestly better.
Hopefully they won't make the 2nd, or the 3rd (rumor is they won't)
But Prince Caspian... Oh Baby! Lord of the Rings, eat your heart out!
Get your loud on!

Wise Words from George
I saw this on Disciple's myspace and could help but toss is on here.
From the guy who came up with Seven Words You Can't Say on TV and many other jokes that I can't tell you about. GEORGE CARLIN wrote these words shortly after his wife passed away.
"The paradox of our time in history is that we have taller buildings but shorter tempers, wider Freeways , but narrower viewpoints. We spend more, but have less, we buy more, but enjoy less. We have bigger houses and smaller families, more conveniences, but less time. We have more degrees but less sense, more knowledge, but less judgment, more experts, yet more problems, more medicine, but less wellness.
We drink too much, smoke too much, spend too recklessly, laugh too little, drive too fast, get too angry, stay up too late, get up too tired, read too little, watch TV too much, and pray too seldom.
We have multiplied our possessions, but reduced our values. We talk too much, love too seldom, and hate too often.
We've learned how to make a living, but not a life. We've added years to life not life to years. We've been all the way to the moon and back, but have trouble crossing the street to meet a new neighbor. We conquered outer space but not inner space. We've done larger things, but not better things.
We've cleaned up the air, but polluted the soul. We've conquered the atom, but not our prejudice. We write more, but learn less. We plan more, but accomplish less. We've learned to rush, but not to wait. We build more computers to hold more information, to produce more copies than ever, but we communicate less and less.
These are the times of fast foods and slow digestion, big men and small character, steep profits and shallow relationships. These are the days of two incomes but more divorce, fancier houses, but broken homes. These are days of quick trips, disposable diapers, throwaway morality, one night stands, overweight bodies, and pills that do everything from cheer, to quiet, to kill. It is a time when there is much in the showroom window and nothing in the stockroom. A time when technology can bring this letter to you, and a time when you can choose either to share this insight, or to just hit delete...
Remember; spend some time with your loved ones, because they are not going to be around forever.
Remember, say a kind word to someone who looks up to you in awe, because that little person soon will grow up and leave your side.
Remember, to give a warm hug to the one next to you, because that is the only treasure you can give with your heart and it doesn't cost a cent.
Remember, to say, "I love you" to your partner and your loved ones, but most of all mean it. A kiss and an embrace will mend hurt when it comes from deep inside of you.
Remember to hold hands and cherish the moment for someday that person will not be there again.
Give time to love, give time to speak! And give time to share the precious thoughts in your mind.
AND ALWAYS REMEMBER:
Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away...."
-George Carlin
With Christmas and New Years around the corner we might be tempted to up the pace to get everything done, or to squeeze in every visit. Less isn't less, less is more.
Merry Christmas... I'll be back in 2 weeks with the 50 Loudest of '07.

Random Ways to Cope with Winter
Winter driving, the constant shoveling of snow, and all the darkness got ya down?
Order 600 timbits all the same kind, and see how many you can eat before you're sick of that flavour... then hand out the left over to the homeless, maybe bring some fresh hot coffee with you.
Borrow a food tray from McDees and hit the nearest hill, or snow pile. Don't forget to return the tray, then grab a happy meal.
Grab the phonebook and start calling as many people as you can to wish them a Merry Christmas. Keep a tally of those who hung up on you, how many machines you got and, those who struck up a conversation with you. But please don't call after 5PM people are trying to have dinner.
Throw on a Hawaiian tee, board shorts and, a grass skirt. Grab a fruity drink with little umbrella. And sit out in the snow for a while.... I think it's called a staycation, just don't stay too long.
Throw a pop and chip party with milk and cookies.
Visit an old folks home and spread some holiday cheer, bring your own eggnog.
Go to daily mass... Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday at 12:10 at St. Mary's in Barrie.
Build a snow man, doing a handstand.
Smile... and Get your loud on!

Xtreme Tress for Sale!
Tuesday night was pretty nasty weather wise... and I had volunteered to sell Christmas Tress for the K of Cs at Wal-Mart North in Barrie.
I the guys I relieved took one look at me and asked, "Where's your car?... you're going to be cold" (I don't own one)
I figured I'd be fine, I had a coffee and some hotpads for my boots and mitts, and my mp3 player set to Demon Hunter -Storm the Gates. I was good!
About 2 hours later... I'm chilly but still good to go, and he comes back to take over.
My ride home wasn't later so, I hit the mall.
For the first time in my life, I've got most of Christmas shopping done before December!
Any ideas for what I can get my mom?
Junky's in Saturday... I'll be back next week to get my loud on.
Peace!

Videogames on the Brain
I've got plans to be at Youth Group tomorrow night so, I'm taping the Grey Cup, to watch it later... but still trying to figure out what to do with myself tomorrow afternoon.
I won't thave this kind of trouble if I wasn't such a mooch, and had my own xbox or something.
What can you do? Wizard Mag picked their top 50 best fantacy weapons ever.
Doom's BFG9000, FF's Cloud had a few swords in there and the Gears of War Chainsaw Rifle made the list. Mostly Comicbook stuff took top honours.
And I'm not sure guy the ladies don't like videogames (I know some do, they're the exception) but it's more than just "I don't like videogames" It's a general disstain for the time passers.
What did videogames do to you?
Okay I'm done... I'm good.
As I Lay Dying took Rock it or Drop it again... with the help of some online votes. One coming south of the boarder, Lansing MI. Dizmas is tuning up and ready for the challenge.
Get your LOUD on!
Oh, Random thought. Buy a 3SN tee before we're sold out, I haven't heard if were makin' new loud tees.

The Hunter Becomes The Hunted
I thought Demon Hunter had it... almost all the calls were for DH, but after double checking the website, As I Lay Dying stands for another week.
A wee congrats to Emily Lanridge of Port Elgin, she pick up a copy of Kids in the Way's latest A Love/Hate Masquerade.
Question, how on earth does the iPhone make Time's Best Invention of the Year!?
It didin't even work the first time around! It's not really all that inovative, it's kind of like the Swiss Army Knife of the phone world.
And Christmas cups already... it's just starting to feel like fall! Not that I'm down on Christmas, it's just I'm not ready to go shopping, and that means winter's on the way.
Storm the Gates of Hell by Demon Hunter drops Tuesday... come Saturday I'm spinnin' the whole thing.
Keep it LOUD!

As I Stand!
Normally we would think 2 straight wins is a big deal... maybe if we were talking about the Leafs, but after about a month of new Rock It or Drop It champs. This one's worth making a fuss over.
As I Lay Dying swept Project 86 like the Bo-Sox and Rockies. The 3SN Research Team is still pouring over the numbers. (Statistically Project 86 is a fan favourite)
Next week's Challenger will have to shake off the rust to compete.
And we said so long Steedan, Saturday was the Crowe's last show. All the best man!
I'll see you Saturday, your bring the caffeine, I'll bring the noise.
Keep it Loud!

What's the Deal?!
We don't seem to be setting any records on Rock It or Drop It... 12 Stones fall after just 1 week as champion. Can As I Lay Dying go for 2 weeks? or will they make like Lemmings?
And what is Sony thinking? In order to compete with the Wii and xbox over Christmas they drop their price to $399? I don't think any of use have been that good this year! (maybe nice enough for a Wii)
I also touch on a few things we should all know before we hit 30.
For the full list >>>> http://www.relevantmagazine.com/life_article.php?id=7496
Next week we're going to gorge on chocolate, rock out and keep an eye on the hockey game.
You know how to keep it.

Oh Brother Where Art Thou?
With mid-terms around the corner my co-host Steedan Crowe was out "studying" although I'm sure he found time to play Halo 3.
Junky Rhodes joined my in studio to get his loud on!
We busted lose with a new feature.. Resurrecting Ska! who will we bring back next week? I haven't thought about it yet. Maybe Five Iron, maybe Supertones, you'll just have to tune in after 9PM
Spoken turned into another one-week-wonder, with 12 Stones takin' the belt on Rock It or Drop It. As I Lay Dying will test 12's standing power.
Captain America's back with a new look, the Autobots roll out as Transformers come to DVD this week... and Chocolate Milk maybe just as good as the thirst quencher. (I think dairy farmers should stick to what they know best -Dairy!)
Keep it loud!

In it for the Money
I'm scared 'cause Steedan and I were sharing the same brainwave.
Money, money, and pizza...
Steedan asked the question, if the loonies' so high, how come his Clifford Colour by Numbers is $4.99 Canadian but only $2.99 US?
He also brought up the idea of the every man's Porsche... if you can make the 9 easy payments of $9595.95.
And I sounded off about the PM's idea to put some of the surplus towards the national debt (I thinks it's a good idea)
A usual fan fav Family Force 5 almost got swept on Rock It or Drop It... but the few online votes weren't enough to keep them going. Kids In The Way's latest Your Demon took the checkered flag.
Next Week... Turkey Time!
The tradition of heading home for the weekend and dumping your highschool sweetie continues. Steedan and I will remember the bands that have called it quits over the last year.
Keep it Loud! (Gooble)

A Moment Suspended in Time
Steedan Crowe was out of commission... I think he just ready wanted to catch Decyfer Down at Freedomfest.
I got a few reports about the show, "Decyfer Down kicks!" but no confirmed Steedan sightings.
Pillar enjoyed a very short stay on Rock it or Drop it, Underoath's A Moment Suspended in Time took top honours. (Last time Underoath was on Rock it they were up for 8 weeks.)
I found out that YouTube is coming to the aid of the U.S. State Department. It's the government's hope that these videos will help the world see that Americans aren't so bad.
I think they need to let this half baked idea, sit in the oven at 350 for another 15 minutes.
That about covers it.

Keepin' it Loud Etc..
If you missed the show... you missed out!
Josh Oliver from Decyfer Down gave us a ring this week.
We chatted about life on the road, get robbed and trying to play gigs north of the 49th.
Steedan and I think we solved the problem with the missing demographic at church.
If you want to see more young adults (18-30) try hiring some one to lead their small group... Hiring a Youth Pastor worked for bring out more youth. It beats the alternative, changing the way church is done and alienating the older demos.
-But that's just what we think.
Oh and next time you hear a fire alarm -Leave the building! Smoke Alarms Save Lives!
Dizmas lost a close one to Pillar's latest Crossfire. If you miss that old school rapcore sound Pillars going back to their roots with 'For the Love of the Game' it's should hit stores shelves next spring.
Check back Wednesday to see who Pillar will defend their 'Rock it or Drop it' title against.
Next Saturday we'll be in the studio holding down the fort, but Worthless Without is opening up for Decyfer Down at Freedomfest... get out there, rock your faces off, and make it loud!

Forget Waldo and Carmon...
Where in the world was Steedan Crowe!
Pretty boy was in 89.3 Country for the fireworks this week while Junky Rhodes and I rocked our faces off and played 20 questions with Demon Hunter... Courtesy of the rover reporter AJ the Wonderdog.
If you missed it Yoggie got on his soapbox about some Christians expecting that Demon Hunter will drop a J bomb (name drop Jesus) while on stage and in all their songs.
In short, their mission is to put positive overtly Christian metal into the hands of metal-heads, that looks just like the stuff they're use to. "Cause if you try to give him the latest Crabb Family disc, not only is he going to laugh at you, he might smack you upside the head!"
Inhale Exhale held their own on Rock It or Drop It, and will return to defend their title.
We'll eaves drop on the Wonderdog's talk with Emery....
Oh and did I mention we announce the winner in the We Need a New Slogan Contest?
Yeah, we'll hook you up with the new 3SN slogan, and the writer gets a LOUD Music Library.
See you Saturday -Keep Loud!

The Almost Awkward Call
Ever have one of 'those' mornings?
This week I gave myself a rude awakening... I slipped getting into the shower.
Fortunately I caught myself, but I know I freaked out my roommate, who's the squeamish type to start with.
We joked a little later about calling one of the other guys home from work, to bust in and check on me.
AWKWARD!!!!!!!
Then I paid for a coffee, took my change and walked out the door cup-less.
On the plus side, my life didn't flash before my eyes and my coffee was prefect.
(and my fiance came up to Barrie for a day)

Triple X Church
This week we aired the uncut, uncensored Sharathon interview AJ the Wonderdog did with JR Mann of Triple X Church.
They have this cool software you can download and install on your CPU... here's how it works, if you're surfing around the net, and you come across a site you shouldn't, it sends an email to a buddy of yours, so he (or she) can call you on it. "Hey what are you looking at?"
here's the link http://xxxchurch.com/07/
Near the end of the interview JR did say something kind of cool... "The computer does work without the Internet plugged in."

Get Catholic or Die Tryin'
If you've tuned into to the show for the last few months you may have heard me mention that I'm in the process of joining the Catholic Church, through RCIA... But that's not what this blog’s about.
I was flipping through the channels last night when I came across yet another crime drama, Bones, and this week's episode. A murder victim found in a parish (Catholic Church) cemetery. This isn't the first time either, the first season of CSI the episode tilted "Alter Boys" and about a month back on another CSI episode.
(I like Crime dramas... and trying to figure out who done it!)
It's kinda funny that Hollywood likes to set the scene of something dark and sinister in the Catholic Church, and when they want to take a humorous poke at Christianity. they make jokes about Evangelicals.
But you may ask me about, 7th Heaven? No comment -I don't watch it.

Pure Love Baby! Pure, Love...
I talked a little about this website Pure Love Club, it's a lot like True Love Waits, on the show tonight. Here's the link http://www.pureloveclub.com/seminars/index.php?id=5 if you want to listen to one of the seminars...
The file's approx 90 minutes long (so I hope you're not using dial up!) but there's a lot of great stuff in there, and I hope you'll find it as impacting as I did.
Keep it loud,
Miller Time
