Number One Song of the Year

Hey guys,

I am so glad that you stayed up until 12:30 to find out the number one song of the year. Of course, it was pretty clear cut that As I Lay Dying was going to get it. They are just easily, one of the most requested bands on the station, and it just had to go to them.

If you haven't already, make sure to check the Top 50 of the year chart to find out where everyone landed.

Also, take a look at the video for Top Song of the year

Top 50 of 2008

Hello one and all,

The year is almost over, and this Saturday on 3SN we are counting down the loudest 50 songs of the year. Not only that, we are doing a couple of things different. First off, BabyTea makes his debut on 3SN with the Gamer's Corner. JoJo McKnight has your Year End Wire report and AJ The Wonderdog has a louder version of Music Notes.

Plus, interviews from Skillet, Project 86, As I Lay Dying, RED, and MANY more.

Make sure you are listening at 9

Also, if you are looking for a Christmas show this Saturday, head over to Owen Sound at Calvary Missionary Church where After the Anthems, Kaltrop and Drown the City will be playing and you can see me at the Life 100.3 booth

Don't Believe Everything You Read?

A while back it was "half-announced" that P.O.D. was breaking up. The catch to this was, that P.O.D. did not say this. So how did this whole thing start? In the new Year P.O.D. and another group who slated to go on tour, but then all of the shows were randomly canceled and the reason given was...

"We regret to announce that the P.O.D / Filter European tour scheduled for January / February 2009 has been cancelled as P.O.D. are unable to fulfill their touring obligations due to their recently announced hiatus."

Now, if another band posts this is a news, it should be accurate right? Not so much according to Sony who says,

"There are a lot of rumors flying around right now but please pay no attention to all of that. Just know that the P.O.D. boys are ALL GOOD and are looking forward to doing what we do best in South America and wherever opportunities may present itself in the future. Thank you for all your Love and encouragement as we head out for the next couple weeks. Please keep us, our travels and our Families back home in your prayers as we’ll be gone through the Holiday."

The big question is, why have they canceled those dates and why would the partnering band say they have went hiatus... This all seem to interesting to me

Feed the Beat

I love Taco Bell, and they can practically do no wrong in my eyes, but this little contest, very smart of them to come up with. It is called Feed The Beat. What they did was ask for groups to send in their MP3's and take each other One on One to see who they bigger band would be when it was all over and done with. The winner of this little contest gets free recording time for an upcoming single (that I am sure Taco Bell will use in some form or another).

What is very cool, is that there is 12 bands remaining and 5 of them are 3SN bands (almost half). They are Fireflight, Thousand Foot Krutch, Maylene and The Sons of Disaster, The Devil Wears Prada, and Underoath. If you want any of these bands to come out on top, make sure to send in your vote now. Head here to vote (FEEDTHEBEAT.COM)

If you have a personal prediction, let me know

Artist Spotlight

In case you missed it on Saturday, we debuted a new feature on 3SN. It is called the Artist Spotlight where we look at your favorite 3SN artists, get to know how they started, their rise to fame, and what they have been up to lately. Last week, we looked at Skillet, and this week we are doing Underoath.

If you a suggestion for an artist for us to use, just send me an email

It's Beginning to Feel A Lot Like Christmas

Normally, we do not see anything Christmas related when it comes to 3SN artists, but this year, there is a lot going on

First off, we have Project 86 announcing that on the 18th of November, they will release a Christmas in which the pre-orders start this Thursday. The track has not been announced yet, but the first 500 get bandanas for free

Next, we have the Almost, who a week after will release their Christmas project entitled "No Gift To Bring" Now, there is a lot of rumors going around, and from what I am seeing, it is only an EP, but that could be subject to change.

Finally, we have one that you should be VERY excited for. Next week, on the 28th, BEC Recordings is releasing their Christmas album "X Christmas" and here is the tracks

1. Thousand Foot Krutch- Jingle Bell Rock
2. Hawk Nelson- Gloria
3. The Almost- Little Drummer Boy
4. Switchfoot- Evergreen
5. David Crowder Band- Feliz Navidad
6. Anberlin- Baby Please Come Home
7. Kutless- Mary Did You Know
8. FM Static- Christmas Shoes
9. Jars of Clay- Love Came Down At Christmas
10. Project 86- This Time of the Year
11. Seventh Day Slumber- Do You Hear What I Hear
12. Sanctus Real- Silent Night
13. August Burns Red- Carol of the Bells
14. KJ-52- Its Christmas Time
15. Capital Lights- His Favorite Christmas Story
16. Jaymes Reunion- Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree
17. Corey Crowder- Angels We Have Heard on High

Which one of these puts you in the holiday mood?

Pillar

So sad news coming from Pillar. After Lester leaves the band, Kalel follows suit. Here is his written statement

"Hello everybody. First off I just want you all to know that I love you and appreciate very much all your encouragement and support through the years. Its meant so much to me and my family.

I wanted to tell you, some of my closest friends first before rumors started flying around. As of a few days ago, I have officially stepped out of Pillar. Its been an amazing 10 years of my life that I will never forget thanks to many of you. There are many reasons why, but it is just the right time. I have a real peace in my heart about the decision. Lester leaving Pillar was part of it. He is one of my closest friends and it would just be hard to continue on without Tuga. Another big reason is my family. I just wasn't looking forward to leaving them, especially Kaden and Kyler, for this upcoming Creation Tour. Shows here and there are fine, but leaving for weeks on end was getting too hard. Not to mention my old back and knees starting to give me trouble. I am just old lol. I know God has some big plans for me still.

I wish Rob, Noah, and Pillar the absolute best. They are going to continue on with a few new dudes. We've all been through a lot in the last 10 years and I am going to miss them dearly. I feel very blessed to have had the opportunity to be apart of something that has changed so many lives.

What will I be up to now???? Well, I will be spending a lot more time with the kids. Instead of going to daycare they will probably be hanging with dad everyday. I will continue managing and consulting Christian artists with my friend Joey Avalos (jmamusic.com). We are working with two great bands right now: One Minute Halo (myspace.com/oneminutehalo) and A Road Less Traveled (myspace.com/aroadlesstraveled). Both of these groups will be doing big things in the near future. Besides playing bass, the business/marketing/artist development side of things has always been a gift of mine. I am really excited to give back to these younger groups and help them to be their best. Then I will be jamming with Lester, Joey, and our friend Chris in our group Stars Go Dim- myspace.com/starsgodim. I like all styles of music so its been fun doing something different. Sometimes Lester cannot make these shows because he is so busy (he is in demand) and when that happens Lester's buddy Tony fills-in for him. Lester has been working hard to finish up our full length record Love Gone Mad (he is producing) around all his session work and gigs. We just posted up new SGD music and you can pre-order our new EP coming out October 21. Tour dates throughout the midwest are being booked now and will soon posted on our myspace.com/starsgodim. Hopefully we will see some of you soon at these shows.

I know this is sad news for some of you. Though I have a peace it is still very hard. Change is hard. God is in control and sees the bigger picture. Please keep Pillar, Rob, Noah, Lester, myself, and all our families in your prayers. Don't forget I won't be disappearing...

Love you guys,
Michael "Kalel" Wittig"

Warm up Those Tubas

Run Kid Run has this very interesting contest that they are starting now. It's called the "One In A Million" contest. What you do is (if you are in a high school band), and love Run Kid Run, you sneak their song "One In A Million" into your set, and then send them a video proving that your band did preform the song. The prize, you get to play at the Creation Festival Tour. If you want all the details you can go HERE

So with this mind, did any of you play in the high school band? If you did, send me a comment and tell me what instrument you played and why you rocked so much at it.

My 5 Favorite Novelty Songs

Now, all these songs are awesome in way or another. None of them will ever be heard on 3SN, which is a shame, but I wanted to pay tribute to my favorite novelty songs. (NOTE how it says MY favorites)

#5 Windows Sounds

Apparently this was made when one dude was just bored and only took a couple of hours. I am pretty sure this would have taken me years

#4 Veggie Tales - Pirates Who Don't Do Anything

Yes, I know after a certain age it is not cool to like Veggie Tales, but this song is the BOMB... Fo sho... This is the only Veggie song on the list, because let's face it, I do not want it to be a Veggie Tales list

#3 "U2" - Head & Shoulders, Knees & Toes

Honestly, people would pay good money for them to record this song, and imagine it live... Amazing really

#2 Songs Made Using Mario Paint

There is so many of these videos out there. Hit up Youtube, and you could find at least a hundred of them. I still cannot believe (like with the Windows Sounds video) that people are just that bored to play around with Mario Paint all day. It takes talent, which I do admit, but it also comes at the price of one's social life.

#1 Portal - Still Alive

I think I have heard this song, about fifty times. No joke. I know it word for word. HOWEVER, if you have this game and have not beat this yet. Run away. Like go on Wikipedia and look up the history of the Star Trek or something, because I do not want to ruin the amazing ending for you

Family Force 5's New Album

To say there was a lot of pressure on the group to live up to their first album was understatement. Everywhere I go I find people who are in love with it. So when it came time to write/record the new album, let's just say things got intense. Here's what Soli (lead singer) had to say...

" "Wow, Dance or Die is out in stores now. This is so crazy to me! It's actually in Hot Topic and Best buy unlike our last record that no one could find or buy. We made the decision to put this out on our own and it looks like it is working! Thanks you peeps for liking the record so much. I had a couple of breakdown moments in making it. If you know who the Beach Boys are then you know of a guy named Brian Wilson….yeah he went nuts a few times in the studio. I had a few Brian Wilson moments. I broke down and got mad at my producer as well as Chapstique and Crouton. It's all a part of making art I guess and being passionate about it. Crouton and I got into it bad about vocals and stuff but we figured it all out in the end.

Everything is cool now but this record compared to Business up front/party in the back was just harder to do. I just had the pressure of knowing that we have to top our last record and not alienate all the people that liked our original sound. We decided to go less hip hop and more dance-y with the beats this time around. I think it is working and the record sounds more mature but seeing 3OH!3 this year on Warped made me miss hip hop all together. With that being said 3OH!3 and Cobra starship agreed to do some remixes for this album. We might release it in early 2009. I am sure we will get some haters saying this is nothing like Business up Front but as a fan of Madonna and David Bowie- like them, I too want to re-invent. It keeps it fresh to us as a band. I think it works for us. Some bands can't get away with it….*cough* PANIC AT THE *cough* DISCO.

Anyway, I can't stress enough that it rules to be in my little house with my little family. It's good to be writing all of you also. I am a very happy person at this time in my life. Thank you God for showing up and making my life awesome!!

God bless all of you,

Soli aka Soul Glow Activatur "

All Digital?

So, I have come to the point in my life, where I am trying to decide whether or not I should go all digital with my music. It's not that I hate CD's. It's just to much money. The only thing stopping me is what service to use. iTunes? Napster? Yahoo? Right now, I am leaning more towards Yahoo. They do not have the crazy Digital rights that iTunes has, and iTunes as a player is very bloated. Yahoo, on the other hand is... well... Yahoo. Not so sure if I can trust them. With Napster, it's more I do not know to much about them, and they would just be my fall back choice if anything

Decisions, decisions...

3134 day and COUNTING

In case you have never seen this before, this is Noah K. Since January 11, 2000, he has taken a picture of himself everyday. He has inspired many others to do the same. I have thought about it, then I looked at my camera. The thing takes something called... film?? and it has to be... developed?? I do not understand it, so maybe when I get a digital camera I will try it. Anyways, his site is HERE if you want to take a look

Basbeball Talents

So I am not going to lie, when it comes to baseball, I cannot pitch. Throwing I can do, but when it comes to getting the ball accurately over the plate without hitting the batter in the head, I am not your man. Instead you should be looking for this guy...

E3 Wrap Up

So I said I would have this up on Saturday before 3SN, but I got lazy... Great... Well, late is better then never... or something like that (I can never remember the expression)

Here's some of the picks from E3 this year:

Nintendo:

De Blob

Originally started as a Free-Ware game, and then THQ got their hands on it. I really love the style of the whole thing and very excited for when this comes out

Wii Sports Resort

WiiSports 2 pretty much. It comes out next year and comes with a free WiiMotion Plus adapter (improves the Wii Remote Controls). Should be good if done right

Deadly Creature

It does not blow you away, but I just like the concept of it

Animal Crossing:City Folk

I have tried this for the GameCube and the DS, and I am not so much a fan, but with new Mii integration and WiiSpeak (a mic for the Wii), it could be an interesting title

Kirby Super Star Ultra

I played this game to death as a kid on the Super Nintendo. Now, it gets a port to the Nintendo DS with added features

Microsoft

Banjo Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

This game is making you use a lot more creativity then in the previous N64 installments. The graphics look really good and the game's framerate seems to hold up.

Geometry Wars 2

Do not even laugh. The original was AMAZING. Now, with more modes and multiplayer. It's really a must buy

Final Fantasy XIII

After much debate whether or not this was going to stay exclusive to Playstation 3, Final Fantasy XIII makes it's way to the X-Box 360, getting the same release date in North America and in Europe as the PS3 version

Viva Pinata: Trouble in Paradise

Now, I have to admit. I did not play the first one. It was always on my "To get ist", but I never got around to it. My brother has it on his PC, so maybe one day he is not home... I mean...

Netflix

For me, this was really the feature about the 360, that got me excited.

SONY

LittleBigPlanet

Ahh... You have got to love Sackboy. He is just so darn lovable... It comes out October, and if you have an imagination, you will fun with this one.

DC Universe Online

Batman and Superman team up? Online?? With thousands of others worldwide??? Dreams have become reality

Patapon 2

If you do not have the original. It's only 20 bucks brand new... Very much worth it...

fl0wer

Beautiful game. I am not sure how it plays, but like I said... Beautiful, even if you are not into gardening

Star Wars Force Unleashed (PSP)

...on the PSP? And it looks like it plays well too? I am shocked

Mutliplatform

Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2 Fusion

Lego Batman

NHL 09

Those are some of the games that got my attention, if you want to see more, you can check out more videos at

Euro 08

I for one am a huge soccer fan! I have been cheering for France (Allez les Bleus!) yet they haven't been doing so well... Anyways if you don't know much about soccer there is amazing soccer being played especially by Holland that beat both France and Italy by 3 goals! I am proud to say that I have some Dutch Ancestors! Besides Euro 08 Exams have been an extremely annoying pest! I'm not sure about you but I can't wait for summer! The beach, sun, and no homework are looking extremely appealing right about now!

Rain Or Shine

Hey It's Slippery John! Man, it felt good to be able to host 3SN for the first time. I love it loud!

I'm a big sports fan and played soccer earlier this week. It was pouring rain the whole time. I didn't think backpacks could get that wet. Even though it was raining our team was taking it to them. Unfortunately, the rain stopped, they scored in the final 30 seconds to tie the game. I'm starting to wish it would rain throughout all of our games!

Have a great week!

Swinging the Sticks

Tim and I bust out the golf clubs Tuesday and hit the driving range.. if you remember Tuesday, it was windy and about 8 degrees.
My bucket was so full that I was pocketing them just to get out to the range.

About 3 balls in we were both frozen... who's idea was this!? oh wait it was mine.

The sun was setting right in out eyes and I couldn't see where I was hitting away, so I just rattled everything off as fast as I could.. 3/4 of a bucket in 8 minutes.
It took the rest of the night to thaw out.

Take it from me, wait to go golfing for at least a week or 2, when it's hovering around 15-18 degrees.

Tossing the Football Around

Found my football the other day in the garage, as I was going through my stuff to stick in the for sale pile... and today, just after it stopped raining, took the almost wife out to the park to toss it around.

It was kinda fun... for about 15 minutes, 'cause sports aren't really her thing, and neither of us was catching what the other threw.

Then it was off to 3SN.. and here we are.

16 Draws a Crowd

You know you're da' Pope when you get to sport that hat, and cruise the dig in the pope-moblie.

You know you're da' Pope when you can call up heads of state and get a face to face, with or without an apointment.

You know you're da' Pope when you can roll into town, any town and draw a crowd of thousands. 25,000-30,000 Youth at any NYC Rally... presented the Pope with the Papal Stakeboard.

You know you're da' Pope when you get to pick your new name, and instead of being the 1st you pick the 16th..

Benedict, you da' Pope.

The Best Kind of Hockey

It's kinda funny, all the guys around the station dig different hockey teams.
Tim bleeds blue and white, Woody's into the Sen, AJ the Stars, Ben like the Blues and Steve picks the Oilers... I'm different, I'll cheer for anyone that's playing those goys (It really bugs Tim)
I'm not a sports nut, I'll watch the odd game, and Saturday nights the CBC's always on, but I don't have my own team.

However, I love playoff hockey!

You play hurt, you play hard, and you skate the whole time... 'cause tonight could be your last game for the season. There isn't a team out there, that's looking to win 3 out of the next 5... no, every team is looking for the sweep, 4 in a row.
Rest up and smoke the next guys that stand between them and the cup.
Then there's the playoff beard, how's yours growing? Maybe if I was a die hard Devils fan, I could keep mine for than 48 hours.

Go! (insert your team here) Go!
Get your loud on.

Beijing Maybe a Bad Idea

The Olympic flame is having a tough go trying to get to Beijing, you know the story.
China's a poor human rights record, Tibet etc etc...
In London and Paris protesters are having their say, and Olympic officials have to keep re-lighting the torch.
Here's a silly question why doesn't some suggest or demand that their country not go to Beijing?
Seriously!
What's more import winning gold, competing on the world stage, or that the basic rights and freedoms we have are extended to everywhere?

Did you every see the movie Stick It?... in essence these girls made it to the finals for their national team, but the judging was so arbitrary that they scratched each their events, picking their own winner.
What if Canadians were to do the same? I know these guys train for years, and Canada's overall performance isn't where we want it, but picture it.
A runner never leaves the blocks, a diver never leaves the board, a gymnast never makes a twirl live before the world, 'cause of social injustice.
Now picture another country following suit, then another and another!

If the Olympics are about the world coming together, wouldn't this be the coolest statement ever?

I'm Sorry Come Again?!

Did you hear about what's happening at a Church in the big smoke? At Easter the pulled the words Jesus Christ from songs... maybe this is a stupid question but, how can you have Easter without Jesus?

I tried reading the article in current issue of Maclean's, but after a few pages I lost track of who was talking the writer or the subject of the article.
http://www.macleans.ca/culture/lifestyle/article.jsp?content=20080319_64190_64190

It's pretty had not to think of this as a joke, it's even harder for me to not get on my Catholic high horse but... if the Church, the Bride of Christ, is so endanger of losing relevance with today's culture. Does it make sense to remove Christ altogether?
I understand doubt and asking the question, "Is Jesus who he says he is?"
Mother Teresa doubted for years, but she held on to her faith, and know people want her declared a saint.

Maybe it's because I have the give of faith, maybe it's because I've seen God's hand move, and I've felt God lean hard on me... but really? This ticks me off, and a like good little Christians I'll pray for this Pastor and her church, if not pray about her. But will I stand against it? or will I leave the 99 in the flock for this one?

I know every church has it's issues, every denomination has it's rogue and say what you will about the Catholic Church, but the more I go the more it just make sense to me.
Every week at Mass we pray for unity for The Church, this week that prayer will hold new meaning for me.

Get your LOUD on!

A Very Understanding Girl

Gents here how you know you have a keeper.

If she willing to co-host a national countdown show with you, you got a special lady.
(AJ & Crystal -CT 20)

If she willing to let you get on stage in a plaid skirt (or kilt) and play "Celtic punk" you've got a special lady (Justin & Bitsy -Faltfoot 56)

If she'll go microphone shopping with you, and then let you set up a home studio at her place, with the computer you bought for "her" then you've got a very special lady. (Yours truly & the future Mrs. Miller -3SN) Mine also indulges my habitues of loud music and coffee.

Misc 3SN after thoughts....

Project 86 -Molotov (New champ on Rock It)

Skillet -Live Free or Let Me Die (#1 Top 5 @ 12)
Holt Soldier -Last Train (The Vault)

Breakin in Leather

Picked up a new leather wrist cuff when I was out Thursday night, and trying to break it in... kinda itchy.
Anyway if you missed the Top 5 at 12 here's how it went down.
#5 Chasing Victory -Chemicals
#4 Inhale Exhale -Dance All Night
#3 Manic Drive -Obvious
#2 Emery -The Party Song
#1 Skillet -Live Free or Let Me Die

Another quiet night without Hollee Rock, hope she hasn't spent all her March Break hanging out with Porcelain John.

Spoken took down Emery on Rock It or Drop It, next week Project 86 brings the pain.

That about covers it, see ya next week.

Bring the Noise... or Snow!

I was on my way to the station right at the peak of tonight's storm, I asked my fiance if I could borrow her car, 'cause I didn't walk in this, but I was actually quite glad that I walked.
I could hardly see where I was going, I was walking faster than some traffic, and by the time I hit the station parking lot... that would have been it, and I'd have to walk home anyway.
There's a good foot or so of that fluffy white stuff out side the studio door.

To update you on our "Bring Back the Snowblowers" campaign... the Walmart had 3 big ones left and Canadian Tire pulled out the electric weedwhiper version, that won't brush the snow off your car.. but it's a start.

Happy shovelling!

Blogs

Blogs, seriously when you've got something to say or information to pass on they're great... but what if you've got nothing?

Will you type away and wasting time?

If a tree falls into the woods, and nobody is around to hear it, does anyone care?
If you stop at a red light when nobody else is around, and go before it's green are you breaking the law?
If you rip off the girl guides... will you ever score a date again?
These questions won't keep me up at night, but writing a blog that goes nowhere might.

Get your loud on.

Winter's here, 'til the snow's gone

Last week we had a record breaking snow fall... which broke the snowblower at my place.
With more white stuff in the forcast I went the the hardware store for replacement parts.

Snowblowers were no longer in stock, the what was left of the winter stuff like snow shovles, road salt etc were on a skid in the back room.
But if I was in the market for a new stainless steal barbeque I was set.
When were the blowers marked to clear? When was the end of season sale?
The snowbanks at my place are so high that it's next to impossible to throw the stuff over the top, so the driveway's getting smaller and smaller.

The point is, this is Canada, we have winter... it lasts 'til April!
Bring back the snowblowers!

You with us? Make it loud.

Think of this as a warning...

I don't know about you, but when I was little I loved hide-and-go-seek! And I found that the best spot, never failing, was the dryer. Just hop on in, and you're good to assume you've won!

But I never thought to try our washing machine, mostly because it was top loading and had the wishy washy cylinder in the middle which I would not have bee able to fit into. But some kid in the States thought that he could! Yeah he climbed into his top loading washing machine to only get stuck, big time. Getting the fire department to whip out the jars of life. (You know it's serious when!) It kind of sucks for this kid because he'll probably never want to play hide-and-go-seek again, he's been traumatized I imagine.

So let this be a warning, mostly to myself, that hiding in household appliances probably isn't the best idea anymore. Even if it is tempting, and even if it's promised to be the best spot in the house!

See you next Saturday!

When all else fails, distract yourself...

This week I had the pleasure of cleaning, a lot.
But do you know what I say when you're sitting in your room, looking around, saying man... there is no way I'm cleaning right now, I need to find something else to do...

So now I am helpin' you out. With tips on how to keep yourself distracted and avoid cleaning:

1. Read old journals, notebooks, letters, and cards, whatever you can find...
2. Look at old pictures...
3. Blast the music and have a dance party for one. Or if you're not much of a dancer, maybe practice the Norma Jean cover you've prepared for you Canadian Idol audition.
4. Play a game, with yourself, maybe badminton? Although you might make a bigger mess than when you started... it might be fun and will definitely help pass the time.
5. And of course if you happen to be cleaning on a Saturday night anytime between 9pm - 2am, that's conveniently when 3SN is on so you have to be sure to;
a. vote for Rock It or Drop It
b. request your fav loud song

'Til next week!

Loud and Up All Night for a Reason

I can tell you why it's loud from a DJ's or a station's point of view... But a Project 86 fan put it in her words... this is why she likes it loud and it's for her that 3SN rocks out every Saturday night.

I listen to this music because The woman sitting next to me on the bus Wouldn't appreciate it if I screamed that loud in her ear So I'll let someone else do it to me. I listen to this music because My frantic, erratic, sporadic, thoughts come back to earth When I listen to the words of my heroes Coming out in bloody curls through their lips. I listen to this music because I've never really been that good At expressing myself to anyone, in any context, ever. And that scream you hear feels the same way. I listen to this music because I am a pool of volatility That teeters on the edge. And if I don't let some of it out I'll really start to lose my balance. I listen to this music because I miss my father And I never know when I'll see him again. So I'm going to listen to this music because I miss my father And that angry angry scream you hear is going to comfort me. Because all I feel is anger anger building inside of me. and i get really really close to losing my balance. I listen to this music because I want the crude, untreated, unprocessed, natural fever I listen to this music because One time I held my father's hand as he breathed his last And I wanted to scream then. And I didn't. So I'm making up for it now. I listen to this music because at night When I'm falling asleep My thoughts try to pull me back to a place I don't want to be So I scare them with that screaming, double bass pedal, power chord, bass riff, explosion. And I dream, serene. I listen to this music because My father died When I was 12 years old. And I hadn't really gotten to know him yet. I listen to this music because I live in a small apartment with lots of neighbors And one time I dropped my shampoo bottle And my neighbor left a note asking me to be quieter I'm sure that my screaming would be out of the question. So I'll let someone else do it for me.

Noise is a lot like art or beauty... you like, what you like.
This morning I was into the station early to op cut ins from a breakfast deal during the Gospel Greats... and I couldn't handle it. It's not that I though anything bad of the tunes, it's just not my bag.
I like, what I like... and I like it loud.

Odd to say the least...

Kind of an odd night.... I mean the Leafs won, again,
Had a lady call in testing her speed dial for Renovation Transformation,
A gentleman, who didn't like, nor did he get the loudness, gave us the gears,
(Something tells me I'll hear about it Monday morning)
and Hollee Rock was seeing stars, and got pretty hyper after talking with Andrew Schwab of Project 86. Nice guy, says the bands doing everything they can to play in Canada.

Skillet pick up the crown as Rock it champ and number 1 on the Top 5 @ 12... I'm telling you John Cooper's a Bruce Willis fan. Live Free or Let me Die, come on that's Live Free or Die Hard!

Back next week with more to do about nothing, maybe a cheap shot a the Leafs, and more ways to get your loud on.

It's one thing to have IKEA furniture, but this guy takes it to a whole new level

If you've been in the bedroom section of IKEA before, then you'll know what I'm talking about when I say that those beds are just so inviting!

Well one guy in New York actually got to stay there! Yeah, he moved into IKEA while his apartment was being fumigated for cockroaches. From Wednesday until midnight tonight he has been campin' out, playing laser tag with the security guards and even planned a housewarming party.

Now you might be asking.. how does this guy just get to move in?
He actually called the store manager a few days ahead of time proposing the idea, and she agreed thinking that it would be fun and interesting.

So for the past few days he has been showering in the staff locker room, eating out IKEA style, and finding a few problems such as: The sinks don't work, and neither does the toilet, refrigerator, flat-screen t.v or the washer or dryer. "Is anything real in this place?" he asked.

I must admit, I am a tad bit jealous of this guy, I would love to live in IKEA... well maybe not... hundreds of customers per day wandering through your bedroom might not be so much fun.

He was followed by a camera crew documenting his stay for a video, which will be shown on his web site, http://www.marklivesinikea.com.

We'll be back next week to see who will be holding down the #1 spot of the Top 5 @ 12, and to find out if Disciple can hold down three weeks of being the champion for Rock it or Drop it after taking a clear win against Fireflight tonight.

We'll catch ya next week!
Get your loud on.

Tonight let it be NEW!

Over Christmas the 3SN research team put their heads together and mixed things up... a lot.

The Punk Rock Block is gone... Rock it or Drop it returns to 10 PM.
The Red Hot Music Preview hooks you with a future hit/ off the chart tune from a 3SN fav.
The Top 5 @ 12 counts down the latest in LOUD.
Plus more sweetzones and artist interviews than you could shake a drum stick at.

And Hollee introduced me to my kind of "sport" ESPN's Couch Potato Championship.
29 hours just sitting there watching TV, I can do that!

See you next week!
